Laut SI 1037AA kombiniert der Satz einen Zylinder mit nitrierter Stahllaufbahn und parallel angeordneten Ventilen (Zylinderbaugruppe 16A26618 oder 16A30061-01) mit dem Kolben 14B23918 und den Kolbenringen 78862c und 14H29885c. Das EASA Safety Information Bulletin SIB 2009-24 nennt den Satz 05K23038 als verbesserte Zylinderausführung, die Lycoming für diese O-235-Muster nach Rissen in der Laufbuchse ausgehend von Korrosionsnarben eingeführt hat, und empfiehlt den Einbau von Zylindern der verbesserten Ausführung. Die Eignung hängt vom Motormuster, der Motorseriennummer und der Zylinderanzahl ab.
